Electrical and electronics
Assembly units build from many small components in several levels, track serial numbers for warranty, and carry e-waste and battery responsibilities.
Who uses it: Panel builders, motor and appliance makers, electronics assemblers and EMS units.
Common problems without an ERP
- Shortage of one small component stops the line.
- Warranty claims cannot be matched to a serial number.
- E-waste returns are filed late.
What the company gains
- Multi-level BOMs drive purchase.
- Serial numbers from production to customer.
- Service tickets linked to the product sold.
Numbers to watch
- Component shortages
- First-pass yield
- Warranty claims per thousand units
